ABOUT the NOvel
A Sword of Vengeance is the second installment of John Stafford’s A Call of Vengeance series, and the follow-up to the 2018 release, A Prayer of Vengeance.
When you find those who prey upon the innocent, you have found the Beast...
It is 1979 and the Cold War tensions between the the United States and Soviet Union have risen to a peak of intensity that makes MAD--Mutually Assured Destruction--seem inevitable. But the nuclear arsenals, aimed at enemy cities across an ocean, are not the true weaponry in a global conflict that is seething to the point of eruption beneath the thin veneer of diplomacy and empty political agreements.
Spiritual forces, powers of darkness and light, are gathering to battle for the soul and future of the world.
Off the coast of Brazil, Brady, a young man who has received a beautiful and terrible gift from the Blessed Virgin, begins the dance of death, delivering long overdue vengeance on a Nazi war criminal who has been secreted in opulent shadows for decades. But killing one of Hitler's most ruthless monsters is only a prelude. For now, Brady has unraveled the first thread of a mystery that will provoke the wrath of demons and angels alike.
Brady, with the unwavering support of his brothers and sworn friends and allies--joined by spiritual descendants of an ancient order of Jewish warriors--will wage battles that send seismic tremors rippling throughout the Holy Land and the Vatican and all major world capitals--leading "the boy who can call angels" to a horror-filled chateau outside of Paris, and finally, to an ominous Irish castle. It there that Brady will face his greatest challenge, for the castle is home to The Bishop, a servant of the Beast; a man who preys upon the innocent; a man who has amassed incredible power while hiding within the vestiges of the Church.
Brady's only hope for survival – the world's only hope – is wielding the Sword of Vengeance.

A Prayer of Vengeance
Two forces vie for the soul of the world: Darkness and Light. It is never easy to write the truth of the Darkness, for it is cruel and attacks both body and spirit, bestowing insufferable pain. To gaze into the heart of Darkness is to feel its horror even when we stand at a distance.
But looking into Darkness is a sharp reminder that there is a prevailing Light, offering hope and deliverance from this evil.
When Darkness gathers its forces … when Darkness performs its evil unchecked … our only recourse is to call on the Light in absolute dependence and trust.
For the Light of Heaven has offered the Prayer of Vengeance to a chosen few.
